Kits available in 3 or 4 colors (options for both included in the pattern) of full skeins of Astrid for the Caladenia Shawl Mystery Knit A long (MKAL) by Ambah O'Brien. Colors inspired by the species Caladenia caerula, also known as Blue Finger orchids. The colors follow Ambah's guidelines for contrast. There are a few kits in stock, if they sell out item will be listed as a preorder.

  • C1-Periwinkle
  • C2-Gentian
  • C3-Rugosa
  • C4-Lemongrass
  • 70% merino :: 30% silk
  • 438 yds per 100g :: high twist single ply
  • gauge 26-28 st/4” :: needles us 3-5
  • hand wash in cool water :: lay flat to dry for optimal care of hand knits

Knit along starts in early April and a new clue will be released every week for 5 weeks, MKAL goes through May 31.

The project is a top down triangular shawl, symmetrical and easy to wear. Knit with a little under 1200 yd/ 1100 m this will be a medium sized shawl 
Pattern includes knitting short rows, simple lace and mosaic knitting, there will be tutorials and tips to help you out along the way and inspire you to try your hand at something new with this beautiful project.

Ambah's inspiration for this design is the gorgeous Australian Caladenia also known as the Spider Orchid, of which there are many beautiful variations.
